Because of Nikolaus Schimmel's astute leadership, Schimmel remains one of the most respected names in the piano industry.

In 2004, Nikolaus Schimmel was named "Person of the Year" by Music Trades Magazine. In their praise of Mr. Schimmel, Music Trades said, "He is one of the finest case designers of all time. His knowledge of the piano industry is encyclopedic. Since the day in the early 1700s when Cristofori created the first piano, the instrument has had no greater champion than Nikolaus Schimmel."
