In the early 1980's, Rick Baldassin
became familiar with the Schimmel pianos while working
as an independent piano technician. Preparing pianos
for the dealer that carried Schimmel at the time, Rick
saw first hand how well the Schimmel's were tuned, voiced,
and regulated compared to other brands which that dealer
carried, some of which were priced higher than Schimmel.
The high quality of materials and workmanship, rich
tone, and ease of tuning all made a lasting impression.
Soon after the Baldassin's opened their retail store,
Rick and Cindy explored the possibility of securing
the Schimmel franchise.
“Meticulous attention
is paid to detail...”
“Every Schimmel Piano that leaves the plant
meets the hihest standards of Mr. Schimmel, but
more importantly, they meet the highest standards
of our clients.” "Every Schimmel Piano
that leaves the plant meets the highest standards
of Mr. Schimmel, but more importantly, they meet
the highest standards of our clients."
Knowing the Baldassin's reputation
for quality and service, Schimmel appointed Baldassin
Performance Pianos the Exclusive Authorized Dealer for
Schimmel in Utah. Since that time, the relationship
between the Schimmel's and Baldassin's has been strong.
Recently, Schimmel wrote that the Baldassin's "possess
an outstanding level of integrity and expertise for
the piano." Through the Baldassin's efforts, Schimmel
was named the Official Piano and Grand Prize of the
1999 Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano
Competition. Schimmel proudly held this same honor in
1996 and 1997.
